The Libertarian Party of Travis County
Referred to as the most libertarian county in the country, LP Travis is affiliated with the Libertarian Party of Texas and the national Libertarian Party.
What we stand for
We believe in smaller government, individual liberty, and free markets — that adults should be free to run their own lives, keep what they earn, and make their own choices without permission from city hall or the statehouse. Our positions follow the Libertarian Party's Principles & Platform.
Locally, that means recruiting and supporting Libertarian candidates in Travis County, taking public positions on city and state ballot measures, and giving liberty-minded Austinites a place to meet, argue, organize, and get things done.
What we do
LP Travis holds Monthly Happy Hour Meetings where we socialize, network, learn, and handle party business — usually with a guest speaker. Beyond the monthly meeting we run social events, educational programming, service projects, leadership training, campaigning, lobbying, activism, and a Liberty Speakers Series.
