Congressman Half Right

Rep. Chip Roy (R) represents part of Travis County in D. C., including downtown Austin. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. In this case, Roy promises to vote against the monstrous National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) unless the leadership removes the new military draft registration requirements for young women.

Libertarians oppose the Selective Service System and believe that young men shouldn’t have to register either. Roy hasn’t gone that far, but at least he doesn’t want women to share the pain. I hope he succeeds, but I serious doubt it when up against the Military-Industrial Complex juggernaut that says this is a “must pass” bill.
